June 2024 marked the acquisition of FEV’s Software and Testing Solutions (STS) division by the Certina Group. Six months later, the division has announced its rebranding as ENORISE, signaling its focus on helping customers achieve greater testing system productivity and sustainable mobility.
A Focus on Testing, Automation, and Sustainability
ENORISE continues its legacy of delivering test hardware and software solutions for sectors including automotive, aeronautical, rail, maritime, and defense. The rebranding aligns with the company’s expanded role under Certina Group ownership.
“ENORISE’s ambition? Simulate, Automate, Qualify,” said Etienne Monchaux, COO Automation Systems, in the recent announcement. “Simulation dramatically reduces the time spent on expensive test benches. Automating the testing process reduces costs and ensures reliable results. All this to qualify our customers’ final products.”
Certina’s June 2024 acquisition set the foundation for ENORISE’s independent operations. At the time, Patrick Hupperich, CEO of the FEV Group, explained the strategic decision: “The automotive industry and the market for engineering service providers in this sector are undergoing rapid change. We concluded that transitioning the STS business to an independent partner like Certina Group secures its future and aligns with FEV’s strategic interests.”
Core Tools and Capabilities
ENORISE delivers tailored solutions to address modern engineering challenges, focusing on simulation, automation, and qualification with the following key tools:
- MORPHEE®: Automation software operating 5,000 test benches globally, logging 1.3 million hours.
- FLEX-LAB™: A web application and test center ERP enabling efficient operations.
- UNIPLOT™: Data visualization and analysis software.
- xMOD™: A platform supporting co-simulation and model-based development.
- Virtual Dynamics: A simulation tool for physical system analysis.
Expanding Technical Expertise for Testing Systems
ENORISE provides cutting-edge test fields, measuring, conditioning, and control equipment, along with advanced software solutions that streamline the development process. These tools enable significant efficiency gains by shifting key process steps from road tests to test rigs or even computer simulations.
Its model-based, collaborative development and validation framework supports engineers facing challenges such as WLTP and RDE compliance, e-mobility, and autonomous driving. The framework replaces traditional, fragmented methodologies with a scalable, cross-disciplinary platform that validates powertrains and electronics from initial desk simulations through hardware-in-the-loop (HiL) systems, powertrain test rigs, and final road tests.
Partnership with Certina and FEV
As part of the Certina Group, ENORISE benefits from a foundation of 65 successful transactions and deep expertise in supporting mid-sized industrial enterprises. During the June acquisition, Certina’s Managing Partner, Stefan Brungs, stated: “Since our foundation, Certina has invested according to the principles of sustainability and continuity. We are committed to building on ENORISE’s strong foundation by leveraging synergies across our portfolio.”
ENORISE and FEV will continue collaborating to develop cutting-edge testing systems that address CO2-neutral mobility needs and integrate hardware-software solutions for enhanced efficiency.
Global Operations
Headquartered in Auburn Hills, USA, ENORISE operates at five locations worldwide and employs over 400 experts. Its solutions meet international standards and advance productivity for testing systems.
