The Waltham, Massachusetts-based GelSight, industry experts in tactile intelligence technology, have announced the release of its GelSight Mobile™ 3.7 software package upgrade.
This latest software update introduces APIs that enable users to integrate GelSight’s tactile sensing capabilities into factory automation processes, robotics systems, and other comprehensive solutions. Additionally, GelSight Mobile 3.7 expands global usability with Mandarin language translation support, further complementing its existing full support for English, French, and Japanese.
The new APIs in GelSight Mobile 3.7 provide tools for integrating GelSight into automated production tests or workflows requiring detailed surface inspection and analysis. Partners can embed GelSight’s tactile sensing capabilities and detailed surface measurement data into their OEM products. For example, Cadre Forensics has integrated a GelSight sensor into its firearm forensics imaging device to enhance defect analysis on reflective surfaces.
