Ideal Power Inc., industry experts in the design, development, and commercialization of its own patented B-TRAN™ bidirectional semiconductor power switch, has announced its new agreement with Richardson Electronics, Ltd. for the global sales and distribution of its products, including its discrete B-TRAN™ device and SymCool™ power module.
Ideal Power recently began customer shipments of its SymCool™ power modules. The SymCool™ power module is designed to support various applications, including solid-state switchgear and circuit protection, solar and wind renewable energy inverters, industrial inverters, hybrid and electric vehicles, and EV charging. The company also plans to expand into industry markets within the second half of 2024, specifically within the solid-state circuit breaker market currently supported by its SymCool™ power modules.
Ideal Power utilizes an asset-light business model that leverages preexisting investments in silicon processing, distribution, and demand creation. It also supports infrastructure for the design and development of its product technology. This business model allows the company to prioritize its R&D efforts to further develop its disruptive B-TRAN™ technology while minimizing capital requirements.
