Littelfuse, Inc., global industry experts in electronic components and sensing technologies, has introduced its TX00AS314TRA omnipolar tunnel magnetoresistance switch sensor, designed for use in compact, always-on and battery-powered applications.
The company’s sensor design combines a precision tunnel magnetoresistance, or TMR, sensing element with CMOS signal-processing circuitry. Integrated components include an on-chip voltage generator, low-noise amplifier, comparator and Schmitt trigger, supporting precise switching, noise immunity and thermal stability.
The TX00AS314TRA draws a typical supply current of 1.5 µA and supports magnetic-field detection at frequencies of up to 1 kHz. This combination is intended to support continuous sensing while limiting power consumption in battery-operated and energy-sensitive systems.
The device provides X-axis, in-plane magnetic sensing, allowing it to detect magnetic fields that run parallel to the sensor surface. This arrangement gives engineers greater flexibility when positioning the sensor and magnet within compact mechanical designs.

The Littelfuse TX00AS314TRA omnipolar TMR switch sensor provides 1.5 µA typical current consumption and magnetic-field detection at frequencies of up to 1 kHz.
In addition, its omnipolar operation allows the sensor to respond to both north and south magnetic poles. As a result, designers do not need to maintain a specific magnet polarity relative to the sensor, simplifying magnet alignment and assembly. The sensor offers sensitivity of approximately 14 gauss for reliable operation with smaller magnets. Defined operate and release thresholds, together with built-in hysteresis, help produce stable, bounce-free switching in electrically noisy environments.
In continuous-sensing applications, the device’s low current draw can help extend battery life and reduce maintenance requirements. Its fast response also supports dynamic and rotational sensing applications where magnetic conditions change rapidly.

The TX00AS314TRA is supplied in a compact three-pin SOT-23 package for integration into space-constrained designs. Littelfuse is targeting applications across building automation, industrial automation, consumer electronics and utility metering. Typical applications include smart-meter tamper detection, position and limit sensing, industrial proximity detection, household appliances, power tools, battery-powered Internet of Things devices, wearable electronics, and gas, water and heat meters.
The product is now available in tube or tape-and-reel packaging through authorized Littelfuse distributors worldwide.
