Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Condition Monitoring Products of the Month Renewables

Nanoprecise Sci Corp, a provider of predictive maintenance solutions, and NKE FERSA, a global bearing manufacturer, have announced the launch of an AI-powered Condition Monitoring System (CMS), designed to enhance wind turbine maintenance and operational efficiencies. This collaborative solution integrates NKE FERSA’s expertise in wind applications with Nanoprecise’s advanced monitoring technology.

Integrated Features for Enhanced Performance

The system incorporates a 6-in-1 wireless sensor and an AI-driven cloud platform to monitor critical parameters such as vibration, temperature, humidity, acoustic emission, speed, and magnetic flux. The platform delivers precise, actionable data to assist wind farm operators in improving performance, reducing downtime, and extending equipment life.

“Bearing faults are responsible for the majority of wind turbine’s planetary gearbox downtime. With our patented wavelet neural network enabled algorithms, we are able to diagnose faults on individual components in a gearbox,” stated Sunil Vedula, Founder and CEO of Nanoprecise.

“This means we aren’t just monitoring the health of the turbines, but providing actionable insights that can dramatically reduce downtime, increasing the availability of wind turbines, and making green energy more affordable,” he added.

The solution is powered by Nanoprecise’s patented condition monitoring technology, which combines AI and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to enable predictive maintenance that is tailored to the requirements of wind farm operators. This system provides operational insights that can help to optimize wind turbine performance and reduce costs.

“Our partnership with Nanoprecise represents a fusion of NKE FERSA’s deep understanding of wind applications and Nanoprecise’s innovative maintenance solution,” stated FERSA’s CEO, Rafael Paniagua. “This collaboration allows us to offer wind farm operators a comprehensive solution that not only detects potential issues before they impact energy production but also significantly extends the lifespan of the equipment,” added Paniagua.

Global Impact and Future Expansion

Initially launched in North America and Europe, the system is set to expand globally, with support for technical expertise in tribology and vibration analysis. Operators will benefit from monitoring drivetrain applications, predictive maintenance capabilities, and a simplified installation process.

“This launch represents a significant step forward in wind turbine maintenance and efficiency,” added Hugo Santos, Chief Business Development Officer of FERSA. “We’re not just offering a product; we’re providing a solution that will contribute substantially to the growth and optimization of the renewal energy sector.”
