ORECA Motorsport, global industry experts in high-performance racing vehicle engineering, has selected Siemens Simcenter software to advance CFD and composite structural optimization across its racing vehicle development programs, including its Le Mans 24 Hours hypercar program with Ford Motor Company. Part of the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, Simcenter STAR-CCM+ and Simcenter Optistruct will replace ORECA’s legacy CFD environment, helping its engineering teams improve simulation efficiency, introduce more advanced multiphysics analysis and establish more closely integrated workflows from vehicle design through virtual testing and optimization.

ORECA Motorsport is using Siemens Simcenter software to advance CFD, multiphysics simulation and composite structural optimization across its high-performance racing vehicle development programs.

ORECA will use Simcenter STAR-CCM+ to streamline CFD workflows and conduct multiphysics simulations that combine aerodynamic, thermal and brake-related effects. Bringing these interdependent conditions into a unified simulation environment gives engineers a more complete understanding of vehicle behavior and makes it easier to evaluate how changes in one area may affect overall performance.

Simcenter Optistruct will support the optimization of carbon-fiber composite layups used in performance-critical vehicle components. Engineers can evaluate different material arrangements and structural configurations to achieve the necessary balance among stiffness, strength and weight before committing to physical prototypes.

Together, the two applications create a more connected virtual development environment in which aerodynamic behavior, thermal loads, braking conditions and composite structures can be evaluated earlier and with greater detail. The approach supports faster design iteration, reduces dependence on physical testing and gives ORECA’s engineering teams more opportunities to explore performance improvements within the compressed development cycles of professional motorsport.
