Yokogawa Test & Measurement, a global provider of precision test and measurement instruments, has introduced its new WT1500 Precision Power Analyzer for high-voltage xEV and renewable energy applications.Scheduled for release on August 19, 2026, the WT1500 is the first instrument in Yokogawa’s WT series to offer direct voltage measurement up to 2000 V DC. The analyzer combines high-accuracy power measurement with resolver signal inputs, multi-unit synchronization and a space-saving design for integration into automated and standalone test environments.
Advances in xEV technologies and continued growth in renewable energy are driving demand for more accurate, efficient testing of high-voltage equipment. At measurement levels above 1500 V, conventional power analyzers typically require dedicated high-voltage dividers, which can introduce additional measurement uncertainty while complicating wiring and equipment installation. The WT1500 enables direct measurement of systems operating at up to 2000 V DC without a high-voltage divider. It delivers total power accuracy of ±0.038% at DC and 50/60 Hz, together with low-power-factor accuracy of ±0.07% of apparent power at 50/60 Hz.

The Yokogawa Test & Measurement WT1500 Precision Power Analyzer supports direct measurements of up to 2000 V DC for xEV, energy storage and power conversion system testing.
Two input element options allow engineers to configure a single instrument for different test requirements. The high-voltage element provides direct measurement up to 2000 V DC with a bandwidth of 300 kHz for applications such as power conversion systems and energy storage systems. The wide-bandwidth element measures up to 1000 V with a bandwidth of 2 MHz, enabling characterization of the complex, high-frequency waveforms produced by modern xEV motors and inverters. Both element types use a common current-sensor input and can be combined within one analyzer.
The WT1500 accommodates up to four power measurements and four motor evaluations. Integrated encoder and resolver inputs allow engineers to acquire electrical and mechanical measurements within the same system, eliminating the need to measure power and motor-position signals separately and synchronize the data later using a PC. For integration into automated test systems, the analyzer provides IEEE 1588 time synchronization, data output to CAN and CAN FD buses, and low-latency data transmission through UDP communication. Remote operation from a PC, external monitor or tablet also allows the instrument to support standalone measurement and analysis tasks.
The analyzer’s compact 2U design measures approximately 88 mm high and fits a standard 19-inch rack, allowing it to be incorporated into evaluation system racks and space-constrained test installations.
Applications requiring additional measurement channels can synchronize up to five WT1500 units for 20-channel power measurement. One analyzer operates as the main controller, managing the configurations of the remaining units and consolidating acquired data. The optional multi-unit synchronization capability is scheduled for release later in 2026.
The WT1500 also includes up to four power-supply terminals for current sensors. New current adapters will provide compatibility with Yokogawa CT Series pass-through current sensors, the CT1000S split-core current sensor and AC current clamp probes. Yokogawa plans to begin releasing the adapters on August 19, with additional models following throughout 2026.
Target applications include electric and hybrid-electric vehicle powertrains, dual-inverter motor systems, e-Axles, renewable energy systems, energy storage systems and power conversion systems.
